Kathy-
These shoes belong to a missionary who left for home last week after serving two years in Sierra Leone. To me they demonstrate his commitment to wear out his life in service to the Lord.

Scott and I went to Accra, Ghana a few weeks ago for New Mission Leader training. We spent one day touring a few sites in the city, including this beautiful mosque. It's hard to tell by the picture but it was HUGE!

The best part about being with these women was sharing ideas on how to teach and encourage the missionaries we work with. There is comfort in knowing I'm not the only one who feels overwhelmed.

Before heading to Ghana, Scott and I decided to try pizza at a restaurant in Sierra Leone next to the airport - our first restaurant since we arrived here two months ago. We were going to order the pepperoni pizza but they were out of pepperoni so we ordered the vegetarian pizza. It was definitely covered in vegetables!

We joined Bo East for their Stake Conference this weekend. Below is the Stake Choir, who sang a 30 minute prelude and postlude as well as a special number, "Down to the River to Pray". Oh how I hope that song is in the new hymn book! Don't you love the matching dresses? Can you spot Elder and Sister Arnell?

We held our first Sister's Conference. Since it's not a typical missionary meeting, I had to get permission from the Area Office in Ghana to schedule it. The Sister Training Leaders helped plan the agenda and were masterful at teaching, role playing, and leading discussions. The sisters LOVED it and felt closer together afterwards. It was totally worth the extra effort to plan it. Besides, we talked Sister Moses into making pizza!

Kathy and Scott - We love your posts and find ourselves laughing and crying! Thank you for giving us a little window into your lives there. Missionary work is all about love and it is very evident that you love the Lord and his beautiful children there! We love you!

I'm so impressed with that Elder who completely wore his shoes out! What a great example! I am loving your blog posts and everything you share about your mission. That vegetable pizza made me laugh! Those missionaries are so lucky to have you both! What wonderful people you get to serve!
Wayne and I live for these amazing posts. You are both such great writers. I am impressed with the clothing and the inside of some of the buildings look shiny and immaculate. Kathy, you look good in the head scarf. Looks like you are embracing the culture and I'm sure it was required for the Mosque but very beautiful. Ya, not hard picking out our good friends and neighbors, the Arnells, haha. Please tell them hello!
Kathy, I love these pictures. I especially love the one with you and Scott at the mosque. You both look so happy! The veggie pizza might be a little much but looks delicious just the same.
My husband and I served in Sierra Leone from April 2022- September 2023. We lived in Bo while they built the Senior Couple home in Moriba Town. You are so blessed to be in what has to be the best area of the world for missionary work! And the missionaries are so blessed to have YOU!
Hugs and prayers for you, all the missionaries and the dear people
